The definitive league table about tight quality.

  1. H&M: a really nice fit, stays in place all day, and very cheap.
  2. Marks and Spencer: comfortable, good value, a good fit with just the right amount of elastic.
  3. Debenhams: basically as good as the M&S pair, but marks deducted for poor stock selection.
  4. Debenhams - Jasper Conran: a really nice pair of tights for £8.50.
  5. Heist: bloody excellent, but £22. After checking how they last, they have moved up to 5th place.
  6. Calvin Klein: really comfortable and a good fit. Dropped down the table because fit changes after a few washes.
  7. Walthamstow Market: cheap, comfortable, a good fit, but a little baggy.
  8. John Lewis: good value for money, and comfortable. But not a great fit.
  9. Pretty Polly: lots of good features, but not super comfortable, and not great at lasting.
  10. Topshop: very good fitting pair of tights, but £6 a pair.
  11. Uniqlo: alright, but a little too expensive for what they are.
  12. Tesco: good value, but far too big and therefore baggy.
  13. Boots: cheap, but entirely the wrong size.
  14. Tezenis: too tight at exactly the wrong point.
  15. Next: suffers from the unforgiveable roll down syndrome.
  16. Calzedonia: expensive, scratchy and too small.
  17. Burlington: not worth £18.
  18. Falke: similarly not worth £12. Plus I'm angry about the wedding rubbish.
  19. Wolford: Slid all the way down the table because they don't last. I'm not paying this much for disposable tights.
